Bogor Regent Urges Public Not to Speculate Regarding KPK Investigation
The Regent of Bogor, Rudy Susmasting, has requested that the public avoid speculating regarding the ongoing investigation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) within the Bogor Regency Government, West Java.
Speaking in Cibinong on Monday, Rudy urged the community to allow the KPK the necessary space to carry out the legal process and to await official updates from the anti-corruption agency.
“Please do not create unnecessary commotion with reports that may not necessarily be true,” said Rudy.
He emphasised that the Bogor Regency Government respects all legal processes conducted by the KPK and will not attempt any intervention.
“We leave all legal stages entirely to the Corruption Eradication Commission. Whatever the outcome may be, we are a society that submits to and obeys the existing laws of the Republic of Indonesia,” he stated.
According to Rudy, the KPK is transparently communicating the progress of the investigation within the Bogor Regency Government environment.
He noted that the process has touched upon several regional agencies, including the Regional Revenue Agency (Bappenda), the Civil Service and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM), and the Education Office.
Rudy did not rule out the possibility that KPK investigators might visit offices or examine other parties as required by the investigation, ensuring that all steps taken comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Rudy encouraged the public to wait for official developments from the KPK rather than forming independent opinions regarding the ongoing legal proceedings.
He added that the Bogor Regency Government continues to uphold the principle of the presumption of innocence while respecting the KPK’s authority in handling the case.
On Monday, the KPK summoned several officials from the Bogor Regency Bappenda as witnesses in an investigation into alleged corruption involving the receipt of funds by state officials, suspected to have originated from deductions in collection fees.
The three officials summoned were the Head of Bappenda Bogor, Adi Mulyadi, a civil servant (ASN) from Bappenda with the initials GS, and the Head of the Bappenda Finance Sub-division with the initials RS.
The KPK previously conducted searches at the Bappenda and BKPSDM offices in Bogor on Thursday (27/8), followed by a search at the Education Office on Friday (28/8).
In addition to the alleged receipt of funds from collection fee deductions, the KPK is also investigating suspected corruption related to the procurement of goods and services within the Bogor Regency Education Office.
