Bogor Regent proud Pakansari hosts GBN Independence concert before Palace
Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto said he was proud that Bogor Regency, West Java, became the location for the Gita Bahana Nusantara (GBN) 2026 Independence Concert before the young talents performed at the State Palace.
Rudy in Cibinong on Tuesday evening said the GBN performance at the Archery Field of the Pakansari Stadium Complex was an honour for Bogor Regency because it was held six days before the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
“A pride, an honour. What should have been on 17 August we watch from television, Alhamdulillah, today before being voiced at the State Palace, it is voiced at Gelora Pakansari,” said Regent Rudy.
He expressed gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto and Culture Minister Fadli Zon and the ranks of the Ministry of Culture for giving Bogor Regency the opportunity to host the concert.
The participants, consisting of school and university students, had gone through a series of selections to be able to join GBN 2026.
“Today is not just a concert, not just a choir, not just an orchestra. These are the best students from Sabang to Merauke,” he said.
Rudy assessed that the spirit of the participants showed the struggle they had gone through to be able to perform carrying the name of their respective regions in GBN.
He hoped the performance of the young talents in Bogor Regency could provide inspiration for the younger generation, especially those with interest and talent in arts and music.
Fadli said GBN brought together participants from 38 provinces who had passed a rigorous audition and selection process. Each province sent four participants, while the orchestra group was strengthened by around 60 musicians who also went through a selection process.
The GBN participants are scheduled to perform before President Prabowo Subianto in the series of commemorations of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the State Palace on 17 August 2026.
The GBN Independence Concert this year was held for the first time in Bogor Regency. In previous years, the concert ahead of the palace performance was usually held in the Old Town area of Jakarta.
