Bogor Regent Promotes Development of Southern and Western Railway Networks
Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto, together with the Ministry of Transportation, PT KAI (Persero), and relevant regional agencies, held an exposition on rail-based transport development plans for the southern and western regions of Bogor Regency at the Soekarno-Hatta Room, Pendopo Bupati Bogor, on Monday evening, 22 June 2026. The development of the southern and western railway networks is expected to improve regional connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and boost economic growth in Bogor Regency.
During the meeting, several strategic railway network development plans were discussed. One key proposal is the construction of a railway line from the Gadog area to the Puncak Rest Area. Regent Rudy Susmanto stated that this line is designed to support accessibility to the Puncak tourist area while serving as a long-term solution to alleviate the persistent congestion along that corridor.
The discussion also covered the Jasinga–Tenjo and Parung Panjang–Jasinga railway corridors, which aim to strengthen new economic zones, enhance commuter mobility, and support the development of the western agglomeration area of Bogor Regency.
According to the Regent, rail-based transport development is a strategic step towards delivering a more integrated, efficient, and sustainable transport system. "With improved connectivity, we hope to unlock investment opportunities, accelerate economic growth, and enhance the quality of life for the community," he said.
He added that all development plans will be supported by comprehensive and in-depth studies to ensure they are effective, efficient, suited to the geographical conditions, and responsive to the needs of Bogor Regency residents.
The Bogor Regency Government is committed to continuously strengthening synergy with the central government and all stakeholders to realise a modern transport system that supports sustainable regional development.
"We ask for the prayers and support of all Bogor Regency residents so that every stage of planning and implementation proceeds smoothly and delivers maximum benefits to the community," Rudy Susmanto concluded.
