Bogor Regent opens space for collaboration with students
Bogor Regency (ANTARA) - Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto opened a space for collaboration with students to support the region’s development, as he received an audience from the Bogor Raya Student Executive Board (BEM) at the Soekarno Hatta Hall, Bogor Regent’s Office, on Tuesday.
Rudy emphasised that students and the younger generation are not merely policy watchdogs, but strategic partners of the government in driving change and development in Bogor Regency.
“Silaturahmi with student and youth organisations is held because I realise that the voices of the young arise from concern for the region’s future, through criticisms, suggestions, and constructive ideas,” Rudy said.
According to him, the channel of communication between the regional government and students must be kept open so that development runs more responsively to the needs of the community while able to meet the challenges of the younger generation.
He assessed that student involvement is important in strengthening public participation in the regional development process, including giving input on various government policies.
Rudy also reminded of the great role of youth in the nation’s history by quoting the message of Indonesia’s first President, Soekarno.
“Give me 10 youths, I will shake the world. Bung Karno’s message underscores how powerful the younger generation is in driving changes for the nation,” he said.
The audience session was a momentum to strengthen the relationship between the Bogor Regency Government and student and youth organisations in Bogor Raya.
Through the forum, the regional government also opened a broader space for dialogue so that student aspirations can be channelled constructively in supporting regional development.
The Bogor Regency Government hopes that students remain critical of various public issues, while the government remains open to criticisms, suggestions, and ideas conveyed by the younger generation.
