Bogor Regent on Region Having Most Online Gamblers: It's a Shared Battle

The Regent of Bogor, Rudy Susmanto, has stated that the fight against online gambling must be waged together, following data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) which identified his region as having the highest number of online gambling players in Indonesia.

“The principle is that online gambling and drug trafficking are our shared war. We must protect the next generation in Bogor Regency,” Rudy told reporters on Friday (3/7/2026).

He explained that both verbal and written instructions have been issued down to the sub-district level for socialisation, including preventive measures such as inspections. “We even formed a dedicated task force at the time, and it is still operating and ongoing,” he said. “We also have a routine schedule, one of which is conducting drug tests in several areas across Bogor Regency,” he added.

The PPATK previously reported that the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) area is the region with the most online gambling players, labelling it a national red zone for such activity. “PPATK data for 2025 shows a concentration of online gambling activity in several regions, with Jabodetabek being one of the largest clusters nationally,” the agency wrote on its official Instagram account on Wednesday (24/6).

According to PPATK, the three areas in Jabodetabek with the highest number of online gambling players are: Bogor Regency with 103,092 players and deposits totalling Rp414.4 billion; West Jakarta with 89,320 players and deposits of Rp600.6 billion; and East Jakarta with 81,750 players and deposits of Rp425.9 billion.
