Bogor Regent affirms ASN positions filled based on competence

Bogor Regency (ANTARA) - Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto has affirmed that the filling of civil service (ASN) positions within the Bogor Regency Government must be based on competence through a transparent meritocracy system. Speaking in Cibinong on Sunday, Rudy stated that this commitment is realised through the implementation of open mechanisms such as open bidding and strengthened internal supervision to ensure every position is filled by ASNs with the best capacity and performance. “This is part of our seriousness in delivering a clean and professional bureaucracy. We want to ensure that every position is filled based on competence, not deviant practices,” said Rudy. According to him, with a large number of ASNs, the Bogor Regency Government continues to push for improvements in human resource quality, including through the appointment of government employees with work agreements (PPPK) and a more accountable position-filling system. Rudy also emphasised no tolerance for deviant practices, including allegations of job buying and selling that have surfaced. He assured that every report received is immediately followed up through the Inspectorate. “This is a manifestation of our seriousness. Whatever is conveyed to us can be directly followed up. However, the process is not always exposed to the public,” he said. He explained that in the past month, the Inspectorate through Irban V has conducted investigations into various reports received to ensure the validity of circulating information. If indications of criminal acts are found in the process, he said, they will immediately be handed over to law enforcement authorities for follow-up in accordance with applicable provisions. Furthermore, Rudy emphasised that strengthening the merit system is key to building clean, transparent governance oriented towards public service. This commitment is also supported by synergy with legislative ranks to ensure all ASN management processes run accountably and free from deviant practices.
