Bogor Regency (ANTARA) - Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto has adopted the values of discipline and solidarity from the Special Forces Command (Kopassus) to strengthen the performance of the Bogor Regency Government apparatus in West Java, ensuring public services run more quickly and on target.

Rudy conveyed this while attending the thanksgiving event for the 74th Kopassus Anniversary at Batalyon 13 Grup 1 Kopassus in Kemang Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, on Saturday.

According to Rudy, the culture of togetherness applied within Kopassus serves as an important example in building a strong, responsive organisation oriented towards public service.

“In Kopassus, there is a simple principle: happy together, suffer together. If we apply this value in government, services to the community will be much faster and more precise,” said Rudy.

He stressed that government apparatus must have high empathy towards the community, as the success of development is not only determined by programmes but also by the shared feelings between government and the people.

According to him, the government must be able to directly feel the community’s conditions to generate the drive to work faster in resolving field issues.

“If our people are poor, we must feel poor. If our people are sick and unserved, we must feel the same. From there arises the drive to work faster and more precisely,” he stated.

In addition, Rudy highlighted the importance of discipline and care for the work environment as implemented at Batalyon 13 Grup 1 Kopassus.

He assessed that the neatly organised unit environment without relying on special personnel is strong proof of the collective culture that needs to be emulated in government bureaucracy.

According to him, these values are important to adopt so that government governance becomes more effective, efficient, and oriented towards public interests.

On the other hand, Rudy also encouraged strengthening synergy between the TNI and the Bogor Regency Government in supporting accelerated regional development, especially in the infrastructure sector and poverty alleviation.

“I am confident that with strong synergy between the TNI and local government, development can proceed more quickly and on target,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Commander of Batalyon 13 Grup 1 Kopassus, Lieutenant Colonel Inf Gerry Heikal Cholid, expressed appreciation for the Bogor Regency Government’s support for various development programmes within his unit.

He explained that several improvements have been made, from renovating unit facilities and building health infrastructure to repairing soldiers’ official residences.

In addition, collaboration with the local government and community has successfully helped resolve several issues, including handling the Cibeuteung River flow, which previously often caused flooding.

“Collaboration with the local government and community has greatly helped us in resolving various field issues,” said Gerry.

He added that Batalyon 13 Grup 1 Kopassus also recorded several achievements in 2023, including a 100 percent graduation rate in Secaba and Secapa education, and being named the best Parako unit within Kopassus.
