Bogor Regency to Build 'Zamzam Tower' Concept Hajj Embarkation Building

The Bogor Regency government in West Java will soon commence the construction of a Hajj and Umrah embarkation building in Pakansari, modelled after the Zamzam Tower concept, through a tender process in December 2026. Head of the Bogor Regency Housing and Settlement Area Agency, Eko Mujiarto, stated in Cibinong on Tuesday that the seven-storey building will be erected within the Nurul Wathon Grand Mosque area at the Pakansari Stadium Complex, using the 2027 Bogor Regency regional budget (APBD) amounting to IDR 142 billion. According to Eko, the project was previously planned for the current fiscal year. However, time constraints forced the construction to be postponed to next year. “The time factor was insufficient to build the hotel. Because with the tender process and other stages, the remaining time is only about six months,” he said. He explained that the construction phase will begin through a tender process in December this year so that physical works can start in early 2027. “The plan is for the tender process to begin in December, so construction can start in January,” he clarified. Eko stated that the Hajj and Umrah embarkation building is designed to be seven storeys high with a concept said to resemble the Zamzam Tower in Makkah, aimed at supporting services for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in Bogor Regency. According to him, the construction delay was implemented to allow the work process to proceed more optimally and not be carried out hastily. “If forced now, we are concerned it will not be optimal. So we postponed it to next year so the work period is more sufficient,” he said. The Nurul Wathon Grand Mosque, which will host the Hajj embarkation building, was built on 2.6 hectares of land with a budget of IDR 112 billion from the 2025 Bogor Regency APBD. The mosque is equipped with a 99-metre Tauhid Tower, a miniature Kaaba for Hajj rituals, and various ornaments related to the Kaaba to support religious activities in the Pakansari area.
