Bogor Regency Relaunches Simultaneous Car Free Day Events in Several Areas
Bogor Regency (ANTARA) - The Bogor Regency Government in West Java has relaunched Car Free Day (CFD) events simultaneously in several areas, including Jalan Tegar Beriman in Cibinong, on Sunday. This activity serves as a momentum to revive public spaces for the community after a break during Ramadan, while also encouraging healthy living patterns and reducing air pollution. Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto stated that the CFD is held as an effort to provide breathing space for the environment and society from motor vehicle activities. He explained that CFD is not only an arena for sports but also a space for social and economic interaction among the community. In the event, local artists, cultural performers, and small and medium enterprises (UMKM) are involved to liven up the atmosphere. According to Rudy, the Bogor Regency Government wants to present a pleasant weekend atmosphere for the community, while also stimulating the local economy. “We want every Sunday for the community to be happy, exercise together, and the economy to move,” he said. He hopes that this step can be followed by the wider community so that air quality in Bogor Regency improves further. “Hopefully the community also joins in, so we together green the air in Bogor Regency,” Rudy stated. The Bogor Regency Government targets the CFD to be held routinely every week as part of a collective movement towards a healthier and more sustainable environment.
