Bogor Regency Increases Free Bus Fleet for Exodus Programme Following Overwhelming Registration
Bogor Regency — The Government of Bogor Regency, West Java, has added a dozen buses to its Free Exodus Programme following overwhelming demand that surpassed the initial capacity allocated for residents.
Bayu Ramawanto, Head of the Transportation Office of Bogor Regency, stated in Cibinong on Monday that when registration opened, 3,829 residents registered, while the initial programme capacity was only approximately 2,200 seats, equivalent to 40 buses.
“When we opened registration, 3,829 people registered, whilst initially the capacity was around 2,200 seats or 40 buses,” said Bayu.
He explained that strong public interest prompted the local government to add 13 buses to accommodate more registrants in the free exodus programme.
According to Bayu, passengers for the initial 40 buses have been verified, whilst the additional fleet will be used to accommodate previously unregistered applicants.
“Alhamdulillah there is an increase in buses, so we are accommodating 1,682 who had already registered but were not previously accommodated,” he said.
The free exodus programme is scheduled to depart on 18 March 2026 from Pakansari Stadium in Cibinong.
Several destination cities in this free exodus programme include Tasikmalaya, Solo, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.
In addition to preparing the exodus fleet, Bogor Regency Government is also preparing a return journey service for programme participants.
Bogor Regency Transportation Office has prepared 15 buses for the return journey, scheduled for 26 March 2026, consisting of five buses from Semarang and 10 buses from Solo.
