The Bogor Regency Government will provide space for street vendors to trade at Tegar Beriman Square, Cibinong District. All vendors will be registered by the Industry and Trade Office and the Cooperatives and SMEs Office. “The registration aims to enable the government to identify vendors, their types of business, and to provide guidance and programme support going forward,” said Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto on Tuesday.

According to him, vendor registration is simple, requiring them to fill out a form with their name, telephone number, and the goods they sell. The administration has also prepared operational hour regulations for the area. “Vendors are permitted to operate from 6 p.m. to midnight, except when there are specific activities which will be announced in advance,” he stated.

Rudy stressed that all vendors must maintain cleanliness. He requested that each vendor bring their own cleaning tools and rubbish bags. “The principle is simple: arrive clean, trade, and leave clean. If there is rubbish, let us pick it up together. Do not just seek a living but forget to look after the place where you earn it,” he emphasised.

He also encouraged vendors to form a community group as a communication platform, so that coordination with the government can run smoothly. “We know the government cannot yet make everyone prosperous, but the community must also be willing to be organised. We want everyone to earn a living, children to go to school, and families’ needs to be met, but under rules we have agreed upon together,” he explained.

Besides Tegar Beriman Square, the government will provide other locations for vendors, including an area around Pakansari Stadium. Rudy also addressed parking management at Tegar Beriman Square, stating that the Transportation Office will work with the community to ensure parking fees are appropriate and to prevent illegal levies. “We do not want the government’s good intentions to become a problem because of improper charges. We want the local community to be involved, young people to be active, but everything must be managed properly,” he concluded.
