Bogor Regency (ANTARA) - The Bogor Regency Government, West Java, is processing sanctions for a part-time Contract Government Employee (PPPK) with the initials AW, who was arrested by police in connection with a suspected methamphetamine drug abuse case.

Head of the Agency for Human Resources and Human Resource Development (BKPSDM) of Bogor Regency, Yunita Mustika Putri, in Cibinong, Friday, said that her office had sent a letter to the relevant department where AW worked to conduct an internal investigation in accordance with applicable regulations.

“We have sent a letter to the head of the relevant organizational unit to process it in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations. The department will process it as the direct supervisor,” said Yunita.

She explained that the handling of the case refers to a number of provisions of laws and regulations related to the discipline of state civil servants.

In addition, Government Regulation Number 94 of 2021 concerning Civil Servant Discipline states that drug abuse and involvement in criminal acts violate the obligation of ASN to maintain the honor, dignity and image of the government.

Meanwhile, for PPPKs, the provisions of Government Regulation Number 49 of 2018 concerning PPPK Management stipulate that the employment agreement can be terminated if the employee commits a serious disciplinary violation or is convicted based on a court decision that has permanent legal force.

“We also emphasize that the Regional Government is committed to implementing the principle of ‘zero tolerance’ for drug abuse in the ASN and PPPK environment,” she said.

Yunita said that AW’s direct supervisor was asked to immediately submit recommendations for handling personnel if the person had been designated as a suspect by law enforcement officials.

“Including a proposal for termination of the employment agreement if it meets the provisions of laws and regulations,” she said.

Previously, the Bogor Police uncovered a drug abuse case involving a part-time PPPK with the initials AW who worked in Klapanunggal District, Bogor Regency.

The Regent of Bogor, Rudy Susmanto, also requested that the case be handled firmly as a warning to other officials and reaffirmed the regional government’s commitment to creating a government environment that is free from drugs.
