Bogor Regency Government Repairs Tegar Beriman Road via Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads

The Bogor Regency Government in West Java is repairing or reconstructing the Bambu Kuning section of Jalan Tegar Beriman with assistance from the central government through the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads (IJD) programme. Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto stated on Thursday that the reconstruction is necessary because the road’s foundation has been uplifted by the roots of large trees in the road median. “Several sections of Jalan Tegar Beriman have also received assistance from the President through the IJD, the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads, one of which is from McD to Bambu Kuning,” Rudy said. He explained that the road section is being handled through full reconstruction, not merely asphalt resurfacing, as the damage has affected the road’s sub-base. “We are reconstructing it because the asphalt and the sub-base construction have been uplifted by the large tree roots in the middle,” he stated. In addition to reconstructing Jalan Tegar Beriman, the Bogor Regency Government is also planning to widen the road from the Bambu Kuning area to Citayam this year. According to Rudy, the road widening is part of efforts to improve public access as well as environmental management through river normalisation. “Citayam is part of Bogor Regency, Bojonggede District. They also hope to have good water sanitation, good environmental sanitation, and good roads,” Rudy said. He noted that the road widening towards Citayam will not require land acquisition because the area to be used falls within the riverbank zone. Rudy said the local government will carry out planning and socialisation with communities along the route before the road works are implemented.
