The Bogor Regency government plans to develop rail-based transport in the southern and western areas of Bogor, West Java. The development is expected to improve regional connectivity, reduce congestion, and spur economic growth in Bogor Regency.

One key plan under consideration is the construction of a rail line from the Gadog area to the Puncak Rest Area. The route is designed to support accessibility to the Puncak tourist region while serving as a long-term solution to ease traffic jams, said Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto on Tuesday (23/6/2026).

Rudy stated that the plan had been discussed with the Ministry of Transportation and PT KAI on Monday (23/6). In addition to the Puncak area, the railway network development will also include the Jasinga-Tenjo and Parung Panjang-Jasinga corridors.

He explained that these corridors are intended to strengthen new economic zones, improve commuter mobility, and support agglomeration development in the western part of Bogor Regency.

Rudy said that rail-based transport development is a strategic step towards delivering a more integrated, efficient, and sustainable transport system. The plan is backed by comprehensive and in-depth studies to ensure its implementation is effective and efficient.

With improved connectivity, he added, it is hoped that investment opportunities will open up, economic growth will accelerate, and the quality of life for residents will improve. The Bogor Regency government is committed to continuously strengthening synergy with the central government and all stakeholders to realise a modern transport system that supports sustainable regional development.
