Bogor Regency Government Breaks Record with 2,000 Karinding Players at Anniversary Celebration

The Bogor Regency Government held the peak celebration of the 544th Bogor Anniversary (HJB) at the Bogor Regency Square. The event featured a variety of activities, ranging from a cultural parade to breaking the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) record for a performance involving 2,000 karinding musical instrument players. Plt. Head of the Bogor Regency Culture and Tourism Office, Yudi Santosa, stated on Sunday that the series of events was closed with a theme titled ‘Mapag Pajajaran Anyar’. He noted that many activities were integrated with cultural elements to welcome this new spirit. The celebration included a cultural carnival with representatives from 40 sub-districts across Bogor Regency. The administration successfully secured a MURI record through the performance of 2,000 karinding players. Yudi added that the event proceeded smoothly and on time, beginning with an ethnic fashion carnival involving over 100 participants, followed by the record-breaking karinding performance, and the sub-district carnival, which also featured the symbolic handover of soil and water from each region. He further stated that the achievement was not only recorded by MURI but also met international standards. The peak of the anniversary celebration was held at the Tegar Beriman field, which has now been transformed into the Bogor Regency Square. Thousands of residents enthusiastically watched the cultural carnival and various traditional art performances. Yudi remarked that the Bupati removed barriers between the government and the people by opening the field’s fences and the square, incorporating cultural symbols into the event. Prior to the event, the Bogor Regency Government had announced the plan for the ‘Mapag Pajajaran Anyar’ event on Jalan Tegar Beriman, Cibinong. In connection with the activities, a road closure was implemented along Jalan Tegar Beriman from the McD intersection to the Bappenda intersection on Sunday from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM WIB. The Bogor Regency Transportation Agency had also urged the public to seek alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion around the event area.
