Bogor Regency Government Breaks Record with 2,000 Karinding Players at Anniversary Celebration

The Bogor Regency Government held the peak celebration of the 544th Bogor Anniversary (HJB) at the Bogor Regency Square. The festivities included a variety of activities, ranging from cultural parades to breaking the MURI record by having 2,000 participants play the karinding musical instrument.

“Today, Bogor Regency celebrates its 544th anniversary. The series of activities concluded with a parade themed ‘Mapag Pajajaran Anyar’. Many activities were blended with cultural elements to welcome this new spirit,” said the Acting Head of the Bogor Regency Culture Office, Yudi Santosa, on Sunday (28/06/2026).

The celebration featured a cultural carnival with representatives from 40 sub-districts across Bogor Regency. The Bogor Regency Government also successfully achieved a MURI record through the performance of 2,000 karinding players.

“Alhamdulillah, the activities proceeded smoothly and on time. It began with an ethnic fashion carnival involving over 100 people, followed by the karinding record-breaking attempt, and a carnival of 40 sub-districts alongside the symbolic presentation of land and water from each region,” said Yudi.

Yudi added that this achievement is not only recorded as a MURI record but also meets international standards.

The peak of the HJB celebration was held at the Tegar Beriman field, which has now become the Bogor Regency Square. Thousands of residents appeared enthusiastic while watching the cultural carnival and various traditional art performances.

“We saw today that the Regent of Bogor does not place boundaries between the government and the community; the field barriers were opened, the square was opened, and there was a cultural symbol within it,” Yudi remarked.

Previously, the Bogor Regency Government had announced plans for the ‘Helaran Mapag Pajajaran Anyar’ event on Jalan Tegar Beriman, Cibinong District. In connection with the event, road closures were implemented along Jalan Tegar Beriman (from the McD intersection to the Bappenda intersection) on Sunday (28/06/2026) from 06:00 to 13:00 WIB.

The Bogor Regency Transportation Agency has urged the public to seek alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion around the celebration area.
