Bogor Regency Government Affirms Compliance with KPK Legal Process
The Bogor Regency Government in West Java has affirmed its submission to and compliance with the legal processes currently being conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) within the local government environment.
“In principle, we ensure that the Bogor Regency Government complies with all policies and all steps currently being taken by law enforcement agencies, specifically the Corruption Eradability Commission,” Rudy stated in Cibinong on Monday.
He emphasised that the Bogor Regency Government respects all ongoing legal stages and will not intervene in the processes carried out by the anti-corruption agency. According to Rudy, the KPK is a law enforcement institution that possesses independence in exercising its authority.
“The Corruption Eradication Commission is an institution that cannot be intervened by anyone,” he said.
Rudy noted that the KPK’s investigation within the Bogor Regency Government has reached several regional apparatus organisations (OPD), ranging from the Regional Revenue Management Agency (Bappenda) and the Civil Service and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) to the Education Office.
He did not rule out the possibility that the process could continue to expand with further examinations or summons of other parties required by the KPK. He added that the Bogor Regency Government is leaving these steps entirely to the KPK to ensure the legal process proceeds in accordance with statutory regulations.
Rudy admitted that the ongoing legal process has caused some concern among certain ranks of the local government when making decisions. “It is only human; when there is news or information circulating, some regional departments may feel hesitant to move forward,” Rudy remarked.
Nevertheless, he urged the Bogor Regency Government staff to continue performing their governmental duties and public services by adhering to applicable regulations. According to Rudy, the law enforcement process must not cause the wheels of government and public service to grind to a halt.
“While this process is underway, we ensure that services in the Bogor Regency Government must not be disrupted. Everything must continue to function normally,” he said.
He also requested that the public allow the KPK the space to complete the legal process and refrain from drawing conclusions based on unverified information. Rudy reaffirmed that the Bogor Regency Government will accept and respect the outcome of the KPK’s legal proceedings.
“Whatever the result may be, we are a society that submits to and complies with the existing laws of the Republic of Indonesia,” Rudy concluded.
