Bogor Regency Government accelerates development amid KPK investigation
The Bogor Regency Government in West Java has confirmed it will continue to accelerate the implementation of various development programmes even as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigation is underway within the regional government.
Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto said in Cibinong on Monday that the ongoing legal process must not disrupt public services or the implementation of programmes allocated in the Bogor Regency Regional Budget for the 2026 fiscal year.
“While this process is ongoing, we ensure that services at the Bogor Regency Government must not be disrupted. Everything must run normally,” said Rudy.
He stressed that the Bogor Regency Government respects all legal stages carried out by the KPK and fully entrusts the handling of the case to the anti-corruption agency.
According to him, the Bogor Regency Government submits to and complies with every step taken by law enforcement officials in accordance with statutory regulations.
Rudy acknowledged that the ongoing legal process had caused hesitation among a number of regional apparatus organisations (OPD) in taking steps to implement programmes.
He said the KPK investigation has touched several regional apparatuses, including the Regional Revenue Management Agency (Bappenda), the Civil Service and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM), and the Education Office.
However, he said, this situation must not bring the wheels of government to a halt, especially as the Bogor Regency Government enters the final four months of the 2026 fiscal year.
He asked all OPDs to continue implementing planned programmes while adhering to legal provisions.
He said Bogor Regency still faces various problems that require accelerated handling, ranging from damaged roads and schools, uninhabitable houses, to poverty.
Therefore, Rudy stressed that the development agenda must continue to be implemented alongside the ongoing law enforcement process.
“Keep pushing forward,” he said.
Rudy is targeting 2027 and 2028 as momentum to accelerate the resolution of various basic community issues before entering the 2029 political year.
Rudy assured that the Bogor Regency Government remains cooperative with the KPK process while ensuring that public services and development do not lose momentum.
“Whatever the outcome, we are a society that submits to and complies with the legal rules in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
The KPK previously conducted searches at a number of regional apparatuses in Bogor Regency as part of an investigation into alleged corruption.
The searches were carried out at the Bappenda and BKPSDM offices on Thursday (27/8), as well as the Bogor Regency Education Office on Friday (28/8).
