Bogor Regency fetches 900 free mudik participants back home
The Bogor Regency Government, West Java, has mobilised 15 buses to fetch around 900 free mudik participants during the Lebaran return flow in 2026 to the ‘Bumi Tegar Beriman’ region. This programme is a continuation of the free mudik service that previously transported thousands of residents to their hometowns on 18 March 2026. Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto in Cibinong on Thursday stated that the local government not only facilitates departures but also ensures residents’ returns are safe and comfortable. “We have provided 15 buses to fetch residents back from the Central Java region to Bogor Regency,” said Rudy. He emphasised that this programme represents the government’s presence in providing comprehensive services to the community, especially during the Lebaran momentum. “This is not just about transporting and fetching, but about how we are present for the community, ensuring their journeys are safe, comfortable, and meaningful,” he said. Head of the Bogor Regency Transportation Agency Bayu Rahmawanto explained that the 15 buses are carrying the returnees to Bogor from two different locations on Thursday afternoon. Ten buses were dispatched from Tirtonadi Terminal in Surakarta, carrying 550 participants. Meanwhile, the other five buses were dispatched from Mangkang Terminal in Semarang, with a total of 275 participants facilitated in the return flow programme. According to Bayu, the entire fetching process is designed to provide comfort for participants, including the provision of a waiting area in the VIP lounge at Tirtonadi Terminal equipped with charging facilities, Wi-Fi, a smoking area, and a children’s play area. He added that the release of return participants from Solo was carried out directly by his office as a form of commitment to ensuring optimal service. “The total number of mudik participants we will fetch and return to Bogor Regency reaches nearly 900 people. This is our commitment to providing the best service to the community,” said Bayu. This programme is part of the 2026 Bogor Regency free mudik series, which not only focuses on departures but also guarantees the smooth flow of returns.
