Bogor Regency DPRD Chairman Backs Forkopimda Patrols During Ramadan

NATIONAL NEWS - Bogor Regency DPRD Chairman Sastra Winara has endorsed the large-scale patrols conducted by the Forum for Regional Leadership Communication (Forkopimda) of Bogor Regency during the holy month of Ramadan. The patrols are aimed at maintaining public order and safety as people observe their worship during Ramadan.

‘This is evidence of our commitment to maintaining order and respecting those who are carrying out their worship in the holy month of Ramadan,’ Sastra said as he joined the joint patrol in Bogor Regency.

The patrol involved the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian Police (Polri), and the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP). Officers swept through several locations suspected of selling alcoholic beverages without permits.

In the operation, authorities seized 124 bottles of alcoholic drinks from various brands at one site. The seized items were taken for processing in accordance with applicable regional regulations.

Wikha Ardilestanto said all the seized items have been secured at Bogor Police Resort. The shop owner and employees were also questioned.

‘Going forward, we will urge other places that still sell alcohol to be brought into line every night,’ he said.

The Bogor Regency Forkopimda said the patrols would be intensified throughout Ramadan to ensure the situation remained conducive.
