Bogor Regency closes Tegar Beriman Road for 'Car Free Night'
Bogor Regency (ANTARA) - The Bogor Regency Government has closed Tegar Beriman Road in Cibinong for a special Car Free Night (CFN) event to celebrate the 544th anniversary of Bogor’s founding on Saturday evening.
Bogor Regency Secretary Ajat Rochmat Jatnika explained on Saturday that the event, running from 6pm to midnight, took place along Tegar Beriman Road from the BPBD roundabout to the PDAM junction, featuring artistic performances, entertainment, cuisine, and local micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) products.
He stated that the special CFN is part of the HJB 544 celebrations aimed at boosting community economic activity through MSME empowerment and increasing visits to Gelora Pakansari and Tegar Beriman areas.
“This special CFN will serve as a consolidation of regional potential, acting as a central hub for activities where MSMEs, artistic talents, and cultural elements from other districts can gather and perform together,” Ajat said.
He added that the event not only provides entertainment for the public but also serves as a platform for artists and cultural practitioners to express themselves and a promotional space for Bogor Regency’s MSMEs.
“The skywalk will be used as the main stage for various artistic performances and entertainment,” he said.
Alongside the skywalk’s inauguration, the special CFN will include a welcome for participants of the HJB Run 2026, which features a night running concept. The event connects Bogor City and Regency, starting at Bogor City Hall and finishing at the Tegar Beriman Skywalk in Cibinong.
A total of 250 selected runners are scheduled to participate in the event as part of the HJB 544 celebrations.
Ajat explained that the local government has prepared various measures to ensure public comfort during the event.
He also apologised for any inconvenience caused to road users by the CFN.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to some road users by the special CFN. However, we have implemented safety measures, with the slow lanes remaining operational for vehicle traffic,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bogor Regency Transportation Department Traffic Division Head Dadang Kosasih said his team had deployed dozens of personnel to ensure security and traffic management during the event.
He added that the CFN only uses the fast lane of Tegar Beriman Road, allowing traffic to flow via the slow lanes on both sides.
To facilitate the event, the Bogor Regency Transportation Department (Dishub) has also set up several parking areas in government office zones along Tegar Beriman Road, particularly near the CFN venue.
