Bogor Puncak Road One-Way Traffic System to Manage Long Weekend Congestion
Police are implementing traffic management measures to anticipate congestion during the extended holiday weekend on Puncak Road in Bogor, West Java. The traffic management involves a one-way system.
“If there is a surge in vehicle traffic, particularly from Jakarta heading to Puncak for tourism, we plan to implement a one-way system from Jakarta to Puncak in the morning,” said Bogor Regional Police Traffic Chief Inspector Afif Widhi Ananto on Wednesday (27 May 2026).
Afif stated that the one-way system is applied situationally based on vehicle volume, though it is typically implemented during specific times.
“The one-way system from Jakarta to Puncak is usually enforced in the morning, starting at 7:00 WIB to accommodate tourists travelling from Jakarta to Puncak,” he explained.
In the afternoon, the one-way system will be in place from Puncak to Jakarta to alleviate congestion from tourists who have finished their trips.
“It typically begins at 12:00 WIB or according to hotel check-out times, but this is applied situationally,” he added.
Several factors are considered by police officers when implementing the one-way system, including the number of vehicles using the toll road and on-ground visual monitoring.
“For this Idul Adha extended holiday weekend, we have prepared 120 personnel from Bogor Regional Police’s Traffic Unit and officers from district police stations under Bogor Regional Police,” he added.
