Bogor Public Transport Continues Operations During Eid Holiday Without Compensation
BOGOR — As many as 25 public minibus (angkot) routes will continue operating during the Eid al-Fitr holiday in Bogor City.
The Head of Bogor City’s Transportation Office (Dishub), Sujatmiko Baliarto, stated there is no prohibition on minibus operations during the 1447 Hijri Eid holiday.
“There is no operational ban in Bogor City,” Sujatmiko told Kompas.com on Monday, 9 March 2026.
Compensation from the West Java Provincial Government only applies to minibuses operating in the Puncak tourism area, Bogor Regency.
“As far as I know, only those in Puncak. Those are district transport services,” he explained.
The Head of the Transportation Division at Bogor City’s Dishub, Dody Wahyudin, explained that five congestion points exist in Bogor City. The Dishub will monitor and regulate traffic at these congestion points where minibuses queue.
The congestion points are located at Jembatan Merah, BTM Mall, the Gunung Batu area, Bogor City Square, and the Warung Jambu area.
Subsequently, Bogor City’s Dishub will conduct rounds to the points where minibuses accumulate.
“Or parking areas that might cause traffic obstruction, we will also manage to ensure traffic flow remains smooth,” said Dody.
According to Kompas.com’s records, the Head of West Java’s Transportation Office, Dhani Gumelar, provided compensation to temporarily halt operations to maintain traffic flow during the Eid holiday.
This policy applies to several congested routes, including Bogor-Cianjur, Puncak-Cianjur, Bandung-Lembang, Cipanas Garut, Tasikmalaya, Kuningan, Cirebon, and Subang.
Compensation distribution will begin on 12 March 2026.
