Bogor Prosecutor's Office Names Suspect in Rp93 Billion Hospital Corruption Case
The Bogor District Prosecutor’s Office in West Java has named and detained a former working group member as a suspect in the alleged corruption of the Parung Regional General Hospital construction project, valued at Rp93 billion. Acting Head of the Special Crimes Section at the Bogor District Prosecutor’s Office, Rinaldy Adriansyah, stated on Monday in Cibinong that the suspect, identified by the initials BAP, is a former member of Special Selection Working Group 10 and a civil servant. “Investigators from the Bogor District Prosecutor’s Office have named one suspect with the initials BAP, a former member of Special Selection Working Group 10, based on sufficient preliminary evidence,” he said. Rinaldy stated that investigators have detained BAP for the next 20 days at the Bogor Correctional Facility for investigative purposes. As a result of these actions, the state is suspected to have suffered financial losses of Rp9.179 billion, based on the Audit Report from the Supreme Audit Agency. Rinaldy said BAP is charged with violating Article 603 and Article 604 of Law Number 1 of 2023. He did not yet detail the suspect’s role as it remains part of the investigation material. “The suspect’s role will be disclosed later. From the case review, the suspect was deemed sufficient to be named a suspect today,” he said. Rinaldy emphasised that investigators are still developing the case, including exploring the possible involvement of other parties. “From the development of the investigation, there is a possibility of other suspects,” he said. The construction project for the Parung Regional Hospital building in the northern part of Bogor District had a value of approximately Rp93 billion, sourced from the West Java Provincial Assistance for the 2021 Fiscal Year. The investigation into this case has been ongoing since 2022 and continues to be developed.
