Bogor Police Uncover Land Sale Fraud, Village Head Named Suspect
A village head, identified by the initials ES, and three of his associates have been named suspects for allegedly masterminding a land sale fraud case in Sukaraja, Bogor, West Java. ES, along with accomplices MS, II, and I, are currently being held at the Bogor Police Headquarters.
“Of the four suspects, one is a village official, one is a village staff member, and two are private individuals. The legal subject reporting this is a corporation, representing the buyer,” said the Head of Criminal Investigation at Bogor Police, AKP Anggi Eko Prasetyo, on Wednesday.
Anggi stated that the village head, ES, allegedly arranged for several individuals to falsely claim ownership of the land intended for sale. The documents and paperwork presented by ES regarding the land are also suspected to be forged.
“Mr ES gathered various figures—people who could be manipulated—to declare that the land undergoing the sale process belonged to them,” Anggi explained.
“Upon investigation, it was discovered that these individuals were indeed parties coordinated by the suspect. The documents presented by Mr ES also showed strong indications of being counterfeit,” Anggi added.
The land object sold through this fraudulent scheme by the village head and his accomplices covers an area of approximately 4 hectares. As a result of the perpetrators’ actions, the victims have suffered losses amounting to roughly Rp 3 billion.
Anggi noted that the report and investigation have been ongoing since August 2025. Following a lengthy process, the police have officially named ES, MS, II, and I as suspects.
“The investigation began in 2025, and we have now designated all four as suspects in this incident. The charges brought against them relate to fraud and/or embezzlement,” Anggi concluded.
