Bogor Police Distribute 500 Kilograms of Vegetables at Bhayangkara Fest
The Bogor Resort Police distributed 500 kilograms of fresh vegetables to the public during the Bhayangkara Fest held at the Car Free Day area on Jalan Tegar Beriman, Cibinong, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Sunday. Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto stated that the ‘Sayur Berkah’ programme is a form of the National Police’s concern for the community as well as an effort to support family nutrition. The activity, part of the series of events commemorating the 80th Police Day, was enthusiastically welcomed by thousands of residents who crowded the location from Sunday morning. ‘Today marks the opening of the Bhayangkara Fest series for the 80th Police Day. Alhamdulillah, this first event was a great success. The presence of the ’Sayur Berkah’ programme is a form of our closeness with the community, as well as a small effort by the National Police to help support healthy nutrition for families in Bogor Regency,’ said Wikha. A total of 500 kilograms of fresh vegetables provided by the committee through cooperation with local farmers were distributed to residents in a short time after the morning exercise session ended. Hundreds of residents, especially mothers, were seen crowding the ‘Sayur Berkah’ stand to get the fresh vegetables prepared by the committee. In addition to vegetable distribution, Bhayangkara Fest also presented various public services that the community could access directly in the CFD area. Residents took advantage of the mobile driving licence service, Police Record Certificate service, and free legal consultations involving several police functions. The Bogor Police also opened consultation services related to case handling from the Criminal Investigation Unit, the Women and Children Protection Unit, and the Narcotics Investigation Unit. The activity was also enlivened with musical entertainment and a Retro Police exhibition that attracted visitors’ attention. Wikha said Bhayangkara Fest will continue to be held in the coming weeks as an effort to strengthen the relationship between the National Police and the community. According to him, the presence of various public services in an open space is expected to make it easier for residents to access police services while strengthening partnerships in maintaining security and order in Bogor Regency. ‘Through this activity, we want to be closer to the community, not only through services, but also through activities that provide direct benefits to residents,’ he said. The Bhayangkara Fest activity is one of the Bogor Police’s agendas in welcoming Police Day, which is commemorated every 1 July.
