Bogor Police Deploy Dozens of Traffic Volunteer Assistants to Manage Puncak Route Congestion During Eid Holiday
The Bogor Police Department will once again deploy volunteer traffic assistants (supeltas) to secure the Puncak route during the Eid holiday exodus. A total of 65 supeltas members will be deployed.
“Certainly, the supeltas also participated in the briefing, (the number) is 65 people,” said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto on Thursday (12 March 2026).
The supeltas are being deployed because a surge in motorists is predicted during the Eid holiday period. From Eid day onwards, tourists heading to Puncak are expected to increase significantly.
“We continue to use supeltas because we have already predicted that there will likely be a surge not during the exodus period itself, but on the first or second day of Eid when the public begins their holiday break — there will be a significant increase in traffic,” he explained.
He clarified that supeltas will be deployed at several locations. There will be a distribution of personnel placement to ensure traffic on the Puncak route runs smoothly, including on alternative routes.
“So we are preparing supeltas at several key locations along the Puncak route. Specifically for several routes, we are also receiving support from 100 Brimob personnel from Kedung Halang, and also 50 personnel from Sabhara Baharkam Mabes Polri,” he added.
The supeltas will be deployed throughout the Eid holiday period. They will be tasked with managing traffic and helping to prevent illegal tolling (pungli) in the Puncak area.
