Bogor Police Deploy 451 Personnel to Anticipate Bobotoh Euphoria
Bogor Police have deployed 451 joint personnel to anticipate the return flow of supporters as well as the euphoria of watching-barter (nobar) Persib Bandung match in Bogor Regency, West Java, on Saturday. The Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto, speaking from Cibinong, said the hundreds of personnel were deployed at a number of strategic points, ranging from nobar venues to arterial routes and border areas of Bogor Regency.
“We have deployed 451 joint personnel, distributed evenly across the field. In addition to personnel tasked with checkpointing and securing routes, we have prepared additional personnel on standby at the Bogor Police Resort Headquarters to reinforce quickly when the situation requires,” Wikha said.
The high enthusiasm of Bobotoh for the match is expected to trigger fan euphoria in various regions, including Bogor Regency which has a sizeable Persib support base.
The Bogor Police conducted tight security at 15 nobar points to ensure the situation remains conducive during the match until it ends. In addition, surveillance was tightened in several strategic border areas such as access to Depok, Bogor City, Jakarta and Sukabumi.
Wikha explained that territorial patrols were carried out on a massive scale by 32 Polsek with support from Brimob Polri and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).
Officers were also stationed on arterial routes to anticipate mass movements or potential vehicle congestion after the match.
To date, there has been no official notice regarding plans for supporter convoys in Bogor Regency.
Nevertheless, the Bogor Police have prepared mitigation steps in the form of attached escort should a group of supporters be found convoying on the road.
“If on site a group of supporters is found convoying, security personnel on the route will immediately issue humane advisories, provide attached escort, and implement instant traffic management so that the movement does not disrupt other road users,” he added.
