Bogor Police Chief's Message to Middle-Aged Woman Whose Life Changed Thanks to National Police Chief
The story of Heni Yawati, affectionately known as Bi Heni, a domestic worker from Kampung Pisang, Bogor Regency, has drawn public attention after she received a gift from National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
The 58-year-old woman is scheduled to depart for the Holy Land on Wednesday, 2 September 2026. Behind her departure lies a long life journey full of struggle. Bi Heni is known to have worked as a domestic worker since the age of nine.
Her formal education also had to stop when she was only in the second grade of primary school. Nevertheless, her limited education did not stop Bi Heni from fighting for her family.
For decades working as a domestic worker, Bi Heni strove to meet her family’s needs while putting her four children through school. All four children successfully completed their education up to senior high school level.
That life journey makes the opportunity to perform umrah a special moment for Bi Heni. Moreover, the departure coincides with her 58th birthday. Bi Heni is known to have been born on 17 August 1968.
Ahead of her departure, Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto attended a Walimatus Safar, or umrah thanksgiving gathering, at Nur Hikmah Prayer Room, Kampung Pisang, Karadenan Urban Village, Cibinong District, Bogor Regency.
The event was also combined with the regular weekly recitation of the local residents’ arisan group. The presence of the Bogor Police Chief, accompanied by Head of Community Policing Unit AKP Nimrod, was warmly welcomed by the community.
On that occasion, Wikha conveyed a message to Bi Heni that the opportunity to go to the Holy Land should be seen as a calling to become a guest of Allah.
“By reason and logic, there are many people who are financially capable. Yet when someone has been destined to become a guest of Allah for the Holy Land of Mecca, nothing is impossible. One example is Bi Heni here,” he said on Saturday, 29 August 2026.
For Bi Heni, the opportunity is one of the important moments in her life journey after decades of working and fighting for her family. With teary eyes, Bi Heni expressed her gratitude for the attention she received.
“Thank you very much, Police Chief. I cannot repay you. May Allah SWT repay your kindness and attention to me,” said Bi Heni.
