Bogor Police Chief Vows Firm Action Against Brawlers Disguised as Ramadan Street Revellers
Police will take firm action against all acts of violence occurring in the Bogor Regency area of West Java, including perpetrators of brawls disguised as sahur on the road (SOTR) activities.
“We will take firm action against perpetrators of violence, assault and brawls, particularly groups carrying sharp weapons under the guise of sahur on the road activities,” said Bogor Police Chief Senior Commissioner Wikha Ardilestanto on Friday.
According to him, there is no room for thuggery within his jurisdiction. Patrols will continue to be intensified as a preventive measure against violent acts and illegal street racing.
“As a preventive step, the Bogor Police will routinely conduct large-scale ‘Sahur Patrols’ to suppress and prevent the potential for youth brawls and illegal street racing,” he explained.
He also urged parents to increase supervision of their children’s activities, particularly those occurring at night.
“Ensure that children are already at home so they do not become involved in activities that disturb public order and lead to legal consequences,” he said.
According to him, security is a shared responsibility. He asked members of the public who spot potential security disturbances to report them immediately.
“Security is a shared responsibility. If the public sees gatherings of youths or indications of suspicious activity, please report it immediately via the toll-free hotline 110,” he concluded.
