The Bogor Resort Police have built eight homes for residents through the Rumah ASRI programme, with all funding sourced from voluntary donations by police personnel in celebration of the 80th Bhayangkara Day.

Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto in Cibinong, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Thursday stated that the construction of the eight housing units marks the second phase of the Rumah ASRI (Safe, Healthy, Neat, Beautiful) programme, implemented across several jurisdictions of the sector police.

“This programme is a form of social concern by Bogor Police personnel for the community. All funding sources come from internal self-help through the Polisi Baik Programme,” said Wikha.

The eight homes built in the second phase are spread across the Caringin, Cibungbulang, Megamendung, Cileungsi, Cigudeg, Klapanunggal, Gunung Putri, and Citeureup police sectors.

According to Wikha, the programme is based on the understanding that a decent home is a basic community need that affects health, productivity, and family quality of life.

In addition to improving the physical condition of buildings, the Bogor Police also ensured the homes met eligibility standards, from sanitation and natural lighting to adequate air circulation to support a healthy living environment.

During implementation, police personnel worked together with residents, community leaders, and elements of the Indonesian National Armed Forces to accelerate the home construction process.

The Bogor Police also deployed Community Policing Officers in each area to coordinate with local neighbourhood authorities to prepare temporary accommodation for aid recipients during the renovation process.

Wikha emphasised that the momentum of the 80th Bhayangkara Day serves as a reminder for the police force to continue delivering programmes that provide direct benefits to the community, especially groups in need of decent housing assistance.
