Bogor People's School Targeted to Operate in New Academic Year
PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) aims to complete the construction of the Sekolah Rakyat (People’s School) in Sipak Village, Jasinga District, Bogor Regency, West Java, by July 2026. The school, built under an assignment from the Ministry of Public Works (PU), is projected to begin operations during the 2026/2027 academic year.
Brantas Abipraya Corporate Secretary Dian Sovana stated that as of 28 June 2026, physical construction progress has reached 81.42 per cent and is now entering the final finishing stage.
According to Dian, Brantas Ablipray is continuing to accelerate project completion while prioritising construction quality, occupational safety, and punctuality. The company has managed to maintain construction progress according to target despite facing complex geographical challenges.
The project site is located in a forested area with hilly contours and extreme slope gradients. Before construction commenced, the project team performed land maturation works using the cut-and-fill method for approximately two months.
Furthermore, high rainfall intensity and limited access to the location have posed challenges for material mobilisation and construction execution. To overcome these, Brantas Abipraya has implemented meticulous construction planning, strengthened field coordination, and consistently maintained safety and quality standards.
Currently, work is focused on the building finishing stage and the reinforcement of retaining walls to ensure the security of the area situated in the hilly region.
The Sekolah Rakyat is built on 6.96 hectares of land at an altitude of approximately 161 metres above sea level. The educational facility is designed to accommodate up to 1,080 students across primary, junior high, and senior high school levels.
The school complex is equipped with various supporting facilities, including separate classroom buildings for each educational level, male and female dormitories, teacher housing, a multipurpose hall, places of worship, a canteen, sports fields, green open spaces, and other supporting infrastructure.
“The construction of Sekolah Rakyat is a tangible form of the company’s contribution to providing high-quality educational infrastructure that directly impacts the community,” said Dian.
The Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, stated that the construction of Sekolah Rakyat represents the government’s commitment to expanding access to quality education while supporting human resource development.
“The construction of Sekolah Rakyat is a concrete manifestation of the government’s commitment to building superior human resources. The Ministry of Public Works wants to ensure that these educational facilities are built quickly and with high quality so they can be immediately utilised by the community and support the equitable distribution of educational access,” said Dody.
