Bogor murder suspect attempts to flee to Garut

BOGOR — Muhammad Febryan (26), the murderer of Anggi Aulia (25), attempted to flee to Garut after throwing the victim off the Bogor Outer Ring Road (BORR) tollway. Anggi Aulia’s body was discovered at approximately 1:15 am on Saturday, 23 May 2026. This was confirmed by CCTV footage facing the Bogor Outer Ring Road (BORR). The footage showed the suspect’s vehicle stopping on the hard shoulder and discarding Anggi from the tollway. Shortly after, the suspect dumped the victim’s body beneath the toll, specifically in the Simpang Yasmin or Sholeh Iskandar Road area. Bogor City Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, Kompol Bagus Azi Lesmana Putra stated that the suspect claimed to be heading to the beach. ‘He wanted to flee to the beach, essentially to Garut. He said it was for a refreshment,’ Azi Lesmana said at Bogor City Police headquarters on Monday, 25 May 2026. However, police thwarted the suspect’s attempt to flee via the Cisumdawu Toll Road on Saturday morning, 23 May 2026. Bogor City Police Chief, Kombes Pol Rio Wahyu Anggoro explained that during the arrest attempt, the suspect refused to stop. He accelerated, posing a danger to other road users. ‘Police took measured and firm action, firing at the suspect’s vehicle,’ Rio stated at Bogor City Police headquarters on Monday. Rio added that at kilometre 163 of the Cisumdawu Toll Road, the suspect was apprehended along with evidence including a machete, a tie used to strangle the victim, the victim’s car, and approximately Rp 4 million in cash. Personal belongings such as clothing, a wallet, and identity documents were also recovered, Rio added. Rio stated that the pursuit was coordinated with West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) based on CCTV footage showing Anggi Aulia being thrown from the tollway.
