Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim has assured that temporary housing (huntara) will be prepared for residents impacted and threatened by a landslide in Kampung Kebon Manggis, Paledang Ward. He stated that the Bogor City Government (Pemkot) is currently surveying residents who require temporary relocation as a disaster mitigation measure. “Yes, the first step is to survey which residents need temporary housing assistance,” Dedie said in Paledang on Thursday (30/4/2026). Dedie explained that the relocation of residents must be carried out immediately due to the hollowed-out condition of the embankment, which poses a risk of follow-up landslides. He emphasised that the threat cannot be taken lightly as it risks causing loss of life, especially for children active in the area. Regarding the location of the huntara, Pemkot Bogor will coordinate with the ward office, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and relevant departments. “We will coordinate with the ward head, the BPBD chief, and the Housing and Settlement Office,” he said. Furthermore, Dedie revealed that the authority for handling infrastructure at the landslide site lies with the Ciliwung and Cisadane River Basin Major Agency (BBWSCC), as the area falls under the Cipakancilan River territory. Nevertheless, Pemkot Bogor will continue to coordinate with the West Java Provincial Government for further handling. “This is a provincial tributary river. We will coordinate because we have a hierarchy of authorities,” he clarified. Meanwhile, the Acting Head of Bogor City BPBD, Dimas Tiko, stated that the government has prepared a budget for huntara, including rental costs for affected residents. Currently, BPBD has implemented emergency measures by covering the landslide area with tarpaulin. It is known that the landslide occurred on Thursday morning, with a height of about 25 metres and a width of around 120 metres. The incident threatens six buildings, consisting of five residents’ houses and one madrasah. In addition, landslide materials also hit a public toilet located below the site or on the edge of the Cipakancilan River.
