Bogor Mayor Hopes Civil Servant Swept Away in Cisadane River Is Found Soon
Bogor Mayor Dedie Rachim has expressed concern over the incident in which Bogor municipal civil servant Bayu Zulkarnain fell into the Cisadane River in Bogor, West Java. He said he hopes the victim can be found soon.
“We are concerned about this incident and hope that Saudara Bayu is found soon,” Dedie told detikcom on Saturday (15/8/2026).
He said that, based on field reports as of 12.00 WIB this afternoon, the victim was still being searched for. Joint SAR personnel are working hard to find Bayu.
“The BPBD head reported that there were no eyewitnesses at the scene at the time of the incident, the motorcycle was on the bridge protected by an iron fence, but a helmet and laptop were found in the Cisadane River area,” he said.
Search Radius Expanded
Previously, the search for Bogor municipal civil servant Bayu Zulkarnain, who fell into the Cisadane River in Cipaku, South Bogor, continued today. Joint SAR personnel have been searching since this morning.
“This morning the third day of SAR operations has begun,” said Bogor City BPBD Head Dimas Tiko.
Today’s search is being carried out using diving and river sweeping methods. Dimas Tiko said the search radius has been expanded since the first day.
“We are still carrying out diving and sweeping efforts. As of yesterday, from point 0 to around 600 metres, today it has been extended,” he explained.
The incident occurred on Thursday (13/8) at around 19.00 WIB in Cipaku, South Bogor. At the time of the incident, the victim was passing through on his way home from work.
