Bogor mayor gets award
BOGOR (JP): Bogor Mayor Eddy Gunardi received an award from the Minister of Cooperatives and Small Enterprises for his success in developing cooperatives.
The award was presented by West Java Governor R. Nuriana in Bandung yesterday.
Anas S. Rasmana, acting spokesman for the Bogor mayoralty, said that the number of cooperatives had developed steadily under Eddy's leadership.
"The number of cooperatives jumped from only 62 comprising 9,576 small-scale businessmen in 1995, to 93 with 15,635 businessmen last year," Anas said.
The Bogor mayoralty allocated a fund of Rp 100 million (US$28,571) for cooperative developments and another Rp 20 million for small-scale businesspeople, he said.
Similar awards were given to Tangerang Mayor Zakaria Machmud, Tangerang Regent Syaifullah Abdurrahman, Bandung Regent HU Djatipermana and Purwakarta Regent Bunyamin Dudi. (24)
