Bogor Mayor Furious with Street Vendors on Pavements: Insolent, I've Come Here Four Times and Not Been Listened To!
Bogor - Mayor of Bogor Dedie A Rachim was angry with several street vendors (PKL) who were still selling in the pedestrian areas of Jalan Roda, Jalan Bata, Jalan Pedati, to Jalan Lawang Seketeng, in the Pasar Bogor area, West Java, on Wednesday (25/3/2026). Dedie said he had already inspected and urged the vendors four times not to sell on the roadside. However, they remained stubborn. “Insolent, I’ve come here four times and not been listened to,” he said at the location. Dedie also reprimanded a fish seller who was trading in a kiosk, but whose goods were blocking the pedestrian path. “No need to put it right in front. Inside only, you already have a kiosk,” he said. Dedie expressed his disappointment to the vendors for making the Bogor city environment dirty. “Thank you for always dirtying Bogor, thank you,” said Dedie. Deputy Mayor of Bogor Jenal, who accompanied Dedie, was also annoyed with the actions of the PKL and asked the Satpol PP officers to remove their goods. “Come on, the Mayor has spoken, remove them. Are you just watching? Remove them!” said Jenal to the Satpol PP personnel on Jalan Bata, on Wednesday (25/3/2026). Several Satpol PP members immediately moved to remove the tables belonging to two vendors. The two vendors also appeared to struggle in lifting their iron coconut grater equipment.
