Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim has instructed all civil servants (ASN) in Bogor City to implement energy savings in the energy sector. Dedie also plans to cut the fuel and diesel budget for official vehicles in the Bogor City Government.

“For savings on official vehicles, yesterday I also spoke with BKAD (Regional Finance and Asset Agency) to implement a 50 percent cut in the allocation of fuel and diesel budgets for department heads,” said Dedie to reporters on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

As a replacement, said Dedie, department heads in Bogor City can use electric vehicles or public transport for official trips. Dedie stated that this policy is a form of support for the central government in terms of energy efficiency.

“So please find alternatives, for example using electric vehicles or more energy-efficient vehicles. Such as two-wheeled vehicles or indeed travelling by public transport,” said Dedie.

“So we really want the central government to be assisted by policy steps in the regional government in carrying out energy efficiency,” he added.

Dedie also instructed Bogor City ASN to save energy in their respective offices. Savings start from electricity usage to water.

“In the context of energy efficiency, I also ask and instruct all Bogor City ASN to start implementing savings. Especially for official vehicle fuel and also savings on electricity and water in their respective offices,” said Dedie.

He emphasised to ASN in Bogor City to use public transport to save on petroleum fuel (BBM) energy usage.

“I also set an example, if I go to Bandung I no longer bring an official vehicle. So I use public transport and in Bandung then we can find, can find public transport or indeed we can use taxis and so on,” he added.
