Bogor - Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim discovered an illegal electricity flow supplying street vendors (PKL) in the Bogor City Square area. He immediately contacted the State Electricity Company (PLN) to cut off the electricity supply serving the PKL. “There’s still this illegal electricity connection in front of BRI; they’re stealing it, no meter, just an MCB, which is dangerous,” Dedie explained while calling PLN personnel in the early hours of Friday (10/4/2026). It began with Dedie, along with Deputy Mayor Jenal Mutaqin and his team, patrolling Jalan Gedong Sawah towards Jalan Dewi Sartika. At that time, Dedie inquired about the source of electricity used by the PKL to light their carts and stalls on the Jalan Dewi Sartika pavement. “Where’s this electricity coming from?” Dedie asked one of the PKL. However, the vendor did not answer Dedie’s question. Dedie then decided to trace the source of the electricity and found a Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) on an electricity pole on the side of one of the bank buildings. It is known that an MCB is an automatic device for protecting electrical installations from overloads and short circuits. The supply from the kWh meter was directly discovered by Jenal Mutaqin while leading the Friday Cleaning activity from Jalan MA Salmun to Mayor Oking. He cleared out PKL selling and illegal parking. Upon arriving at Jalan Mayor Oking, Jenal was surprised to find electrical plugs used by the PKL. He then requested PLN Bogor to remove them.
