Bogor Mayor Allows Residents to Visit for Eid Greetings but No Special Events
Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim stated that the public can still visit for halal bi halal, but there will be no special events. He said he does not reject the presence of the public who wish to visit the official residence but is not preparing any special events. He added that visitors coming for greetings should not have excessive expectations regarding the food served. “It’s not an open house, of course. As Mayor, I cannot possibly reject the presence of the public who come to visit. But to be honest, I am not preparing any special events,” said Dedie at the Bogor City Hall on Friday night (20/3/2026). Dedie also joked that attendees would not receive nasi kebuli because the vendors are on holiday celebrating Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. “But don’t ask later, ‘why didn’t the Mayor prepare nasi kebuli?’ Because besides the circular from the Minister of Home Affairs to adjust and limit events, the nasi kebuli seller is also on holiday,” he said. Previously reported, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has prohibited officials from holding lavish open houses for this Eid al-Fitr 2026. Prabowo reminded that many people are still affected by disasters. “We also have to set an example; open houses or whatever, don’t be too lavish,” he said during the Cabinet Meeting at the Palace, Jakarta, on Friday (13/3/2026). “But we shouldn’t totally close all events either. If not, our economy won’t run,” Prabowo added.
