BOGOR – The demolition of Pasar Bogor building and Plaza Bogor is still ongoing as part of efforts to reorganise the area in Bogor City, West Java.

As of now, the demolition of both buildings shows significant progress and is targeted to be completed in July 2026.

Based on observations at the site, the Pasar Bogor building has almost entirely been demolished. Only a portion of the structure near the Jalan Roda access remains, which is still used for public traffic.

Two heavy machines were seen operating in the Pasar Bogor area to crush and level the remaining building materials.

The entire demolition process is enclosed with zinc walls as project boundaries. However, dust from the building demolition activities, especially at Plaza Bogor, is still visible spreading as far as Jalan Bata.

“Watch out for the dust, cover up from the dust,” said one resident passing by on Jalan Bata while covering their nose with their palm.

As a safety measure, green netting has been installed to cover the Plaza Bogor building to prevent demolition materials from flying out of the project area and endangering residents.

On the other hand, workers were also seen continuously crushing demolition materials on the ground floor of the Plaza Bogor building.

The demolition process of both buildings has been underway since January 2026 and is targeted to finish in July 2026.

The Director of Perumda Pasar Pakuan Jaya in Bogor City, Jenal Abidin, explained that the demolition process has been running since January 2026. The target for completing the demolition of both buildings is July 2026.

“Indeed, demolition is currently underway, it has been running for about two months. It has been running for about two months, and it will end at the latest in July,” Jenal clarified when met by Kompas.com in Suryakencana, Bogor City, on Monday (30/3/2026).

“The percentage for Pasar Bogor has reached around 80 percent. For Plaza Bogor, it’s about 20 to 25 percent,” he continued.

In addition, Perumda also plans to build a parking building for residents wishing to visit Suryakencana or Kebun Raya Bogor.

Perumda also intends to centralise parking for visitors from outside Bogor City entering the Suryakencana area at Pasar Bogor and Plaza Bogor.

“Including visitors coming from outside Bogor City, their parking will all be centralised at Pasar Bogor and Plaza Bogor,” he stated.

Furthermore, there are plans to build a convention hall and hotel for visitors who wish to use Pasar Bogor or Plaza Bogor. Then, there are plans to build a clean market in the Pasar Bogor area for traders.

“Note this: the traders there must be willing to upgrade themselves. Everything must be clean, no more muddy markets there,” he said.
