The circulation of hundreds of prescription drugs, including tramadol and hexymer, in the Parung area of Bogor Regency, West Java, has been uncovered by police. The perpetrator disguised the illicit distribution of these drugs by posing as a mobile bread seller.

Compiled by detikcom on Friday (17/4/2026), the circulation of these banned drugs was revealed after police received information about the widespread distribution of tramadol in the area. Police conducted an investigation, ultimately arresting the suspect with initials BEM (51).

As is known, tramadol is a synthetic opioid painkiller that requires a doctor’s prescription for use. Meanwhile, hexymer is a prescription anticholinergic drug.

However, both of these prescription drugs have recently been widely misused. Perpetrators trade these drugs illegally under various guises, from grocery stores and pharmacies, and most recently, as a mobile bread seller.

Prescription Drug Seller Arrested

Police arrested a man with initials BEM (51) in Parung Subdistrict, Bogor, West Java, who was distributing Tramadol. BEM’s modus operandi was to pretend to be a mobile bread seller.

“Parung Police Station has successfully uncovered a case of misuse and distribution of Schedule G prescription drugs without permission, namely Tramadol and Hexymer. In the operation, officers secured a male suspect alleged to be distributing prescription drugs without permission,” said Parung Police Chief Kompol Maman Firmansyah on Thursday (16/4).

The bust occurred on Thursday (16/4) around 00:45 WIB, at Parung Market, Waru Village, Parung Subdistrict, Bogor Regency.

The evidence consisted of 411 Tramadol pills, 321 Hexymer pills, Rp 748,000 in cash, one waist bag, and one mobile phone. Police are currently pursuing the Tramadol supplier to the suspect.

Mobile Bread Sales Modus Operandi

In his operation, the suspect used an unexpected modus operandi. He distributed tramadol and hexymer to Parung Market under the guise of a mobile bread seller.

“The drugs were intended to be redistributed to traders at Parung Market using the modus operandi of selling bread from a cart,” he explained.

Police are currently conducting intensive investigations to uncover the tramadol and hexymer distribution network. Parung Police Station has handed over the case handling to the Drug Narcotics Unit of Bogor Police Resort.

“Subsequently, for further investigation, Parung Police Station has coordinated and handed over the case to the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Unit of Bogor Police Resort,” he concluded.
