Bogor Line Passengers Continue to Rise as Bogor Station Platforms Extended
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) together with KAI Commuter is revitalising and extending platforms on tracks 6, 7, and 8 at Bogor Station. The project is part of increasing the capacity of the Commuter Line services, particularly on the Bogor Line corridor which continues to record passenger growth. Revitalisation works began on 15 April 2026 and are targeted for completion in July 2026. The facility updates are intended to support operations of the Commuter Line trains with a 12-car formation or SF12. With this formation, passenger carrying capacity per journey will increase. The capacity is expected to accommodate the mobility of people in the Bogor Line corridor.
“Bogor Line is one of the routes with the highest customer mobility in the Jabodetabek region. The continued growth in passenger volumes needs to be matched by station capacity readiness and travel operation patterns to keep customer service running optimally,” said Anne in an official statement on Wednesday (20 May 2026). Anne said the current frequency of Commuter Line services at Bogor Station reaches 392 trips per day on weekdays. Weekend frequency reaches 373 trips per day. The high frequency makes Bogor Station one of the busiest stations in the Jabodetabek Commuter Line network. Passenger data also shows growth year on year. From January to April 2026, the volume of passengers performing gate-in at Bogor Station reached 6.1 million. Gate-out volume in the same period reached 5.9 million. The figures are higher than in 2024. At that time, gate-in volume was 17.1 million and gate-out 17.2 million. Passenger growth is also visible in Bogor Line user volumes overall. In 2022, Bogor Line passenger numbers were 102 million. The figure rose to 133 million in 2023. Passenger numbers rose again to 145.9 million in 2024, then reached 155 million in 2025.
