Bogor DPRD Urges Chamber of Commerce to Help Boost Regional Economy
The Chairman of the Bogor City Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), Adityawarman Adil, has placed high hopes on the new management of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for the 2026-2031 period. He encouraged the business organisation to take an active role in boosting the regional economy.
Adityawarman stated that budget efficiency measures are still ongoing within the local government. These fiscal limitations demand strong cross-sector collaboration for the sake of public welfare.
“The central government’s efficiency policy has significantly impacted the 2026 Regional Budget (APBD), meaning some activities usually covered by the budget may not be implemented this year. Therefore, Kadin is expected to carry out activities that the APBD cannot cover,” he said during a visit from the Kadin Bogor City board at the DPRD office on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.
He assessed that the new Kadin board must become “fresh blood” for the organisation, bringing a burning spirit to advance the city. The DPRD, he continued, will continue to push Kadin to prioritise work programmes and activities that directly address the real needs of the wider community.
Secretary of Commission II of the Bogor City DPRD, Mochamad Benninu Argoebie, specifically noted that Kadin should no longer focus solely on conventional sectors like infrastructure and construction. Given the challenging state of regional finances, business sector diversification is considered the key. “Today, Bogor City’s economy is in a state of dynamic flux,” he said.
The NasDem Party legislator emphasised the strategic role Kadin must play in building fiscal independence for Bogor City. “Kadin is expected to synergise closely with the Bogor City Government in efforts to expand potential and achieve local revenue targets,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the visit by the Kadin management for the 2026-2031 period was conducted to seek direction, input, and views from the legislative body ahead of the full management inauguration. “We visited to receive direction, input, views, and expectations from the DPRD for Kadin going forward,” said Kadin Bogor City Chairman Arwinsyah Putra.
He added that input from the council leadership and members is crucial for finalising the organisation’s management structure. He hopes the new management formation will bring positive change and gradual but definite contributions to improving the business world in Bogor City.
