Bogor DPRD Reviews Jambu Dua Market, Ensures Comfort for Traders and Buyers
The Chairman of Commission II of the Bogor City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Achmad Rifki Alaydrus, inspected trading activities at Pasar Jambu Dua on Monday, 29 June 2026. The activity aimed to ensure the readiness of facilities and the comfort of both traders and the public shopping at the market. Rifki stated that the inspection serves as a periodic evaluation of the development of traditional markets as central hubs of economic activity, as well as a platform for empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in Bogor City. The visit was also attended by Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim, Deputy Mayor Jenal Mutaqin, and their staff. Based on observations in the field, Rifki appreciated the physical condition of the Pasar Jambu Dua building, which he deemed far more presentable than before. Various supporting facilities, such as neatly arranged kiosks and stalls, parking areas, special access for loading and unloading goods, and other public amenities, have been prepared by the management. He also noted that the local government continues to improve road access to the market to facilitate public mobility. Despite the appreciation, the Chairman of Commission II stressed that several important matters still require attention and optimisation by the management and the Bogor City Government. These notes include visitor flow management, cleanliness, security, parking capacity optimisation, and public transportation access to the market. He specifically highlighted the comfort of the second floor, which functions as a culinary centre, stating that air circulation facilities in the area still need to be improved, such as by adding fans or blowers, to make visitors feel more at ease. Rifki added that the physical grandeur of the market building must be matched by high public visitation rates, necessitating a special strategy to enliven Pasar Jambu Dua so that buying and selling activities become more vibrant. He affirmed that Commission II of the Bogor City DPRD is fully committed to continuously overseeing the evaluation process of Pasar Jambu Dua’s management and will collaborate intensively with the City Government and the managing enterprise, Perumda Pasar Pakuan Jaya. He expressed hope that through continuous supervision and improvement, Pasar Jambu Dua can truly transform into a comfortable and orderly people’s trading centre, while also becoming a primary driver of the community’s economy in Bogor City.
