Bogor DPRD Receives Student Aspirations, Ready to Escort Demands to Central Government

The Chairman of the Bogor City DPRD, Adityawarman Adil, directly received a demonstration staged by students from the Bogor Raya Alliance of Student Executive Boards (BEM) on Jalan Sudirman, Central Bogor District, Bogor City, on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. Adityawarman Adil was accompanied by Deputy Chairman II of the Bogor City DPRD Zenal Abidin, Chairman of Commission III Ahmad Aswandi, Deputy Mayor of Bogor Jenal Mutaqin, Bogor City Police Chief Senior Commissioner Rio Wahyu Anggoro, and Bogor City Military District Commander Colonel Gan Gan Rusgandara. The presence of legislative leaders amidst the crowd was a form of openness in absorbing the aspirations brought by the students.

In response to the action, Adityawarman Adil expressed his high appreciation for the demonstration, which proceeded in a safe, orderly, and conducive manner. He stated that both the regional legislative and executive branches greatly value every point of evaluation voiced by the student movement. “Alhamdulillah, the action was conducive. We appreciate every opinion conveyed by our fellow students. We have received what was aspired to well,” said Adityawarman.

While welcoming the students and their aspirations, Adityawarman explained that the majority of the demands put forward by the Bogor Raya BEM Alliance fall within the realm of national policy. Therefore, the full authority to execute these policies lies with the central government, not the regional government. As a concrete step, Adityawarman affirmed the Bogor City DPRD’s full commitment to bridging the students’ voices. The council will forward the list of demands to the central level, specifically to the national House of Representatives (DPR RI).

“Of course, most of these demands are the authority of the central government, not the regional government. The step we can take is to deliver and convey the aspirations we have received to the authorised institution, in this case the DPR RI,” he stressed. Adityawarman added that the DPRD and the Bogor City Government will take joint follow-up actions to ensure that the voices of Bogor’s citizens reach the highest policy-making level.

For information, the Bogor Raya BEM Alliance, consisting of students from various universities in Bogor such as the Tazkia Islamic Institute, Djuanda Islamic University (Unida), Bina Sarana Informatika University (BSI), and Nusa Bangsa University, presented seven demands. These demands included an evaluation of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG), re-functionalisation of the budget in accordance with the constitutional mandate, price stabilisation, the realisation of a clean government, regulatory reform, the ratification of the Asset Forfeiture Bill, and the eradication of land mafias.
