Bogor DPRD Chairman Invites Residents to Emulate Inspirational Story of Pangdam III/Siliwangi on 1 Muharram 1448 H

Bogor DPRD Chairman Adityawarman Adil attended the commemoration of the Islamic New Year 1 Muharram 1448 Hijriah held at the Grand Mosque of Bogor on Monday, 15 June 2026. Carrying the theme ‘The Spirit of the Islamic New Year 1448 H Strengthens Islamic Spirituality Within the Framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia’, the event served as a moment of reflection to strengthen unity, improve oneself, and enhance social awareness. The event was attended by members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), including Pangdam III/Siliwangi, Major General TNI Kosasih, who shared his life journey from being a mosque caretaker to being entrusted as the Commander of the III/Siliwangi Regional Military Command. Adityawarman stated that this story serves as an inspiration that perseverance, hard work, and prayer can lead someone to achieve their dreams. ‘Frequent prayer and recitation of salawat upon the Prophet Muhammad are the keys to ensuring that all our goals, needs, and aspirations are made easy by Allah SWT,’ Adityawarman said. In his sermon, Major General TNI Kosasih invited the community to make the Islamic New Year a momentum for self-evaluation, improving morals, and increasing concern for others, especially the poor. ‘The Islamic New Year should be a momentum to improve oneself, guard the heart, strengthen morals, and stay away from all actions that may lead to sin. Make the Al-Qur’an a companion in daily life,’ he said. The series of activities concluded with the handing over of donations to orphans and the distribution of gift packages to the underprivileged by Pangdam III/Siliwangi, the Mayor of Bogor, the Chairman of the Bogor DPRD, and other Forkopimda members as a form of social concern for the community. Through the commemoration of the Islamic New Year 1448 Hijriah, the Bogor City Government hopes that Islamic values, the spirit of togetherness, and social awareness will continue to grow within the community.
