Bogor District Transport Office Conducts Safety Inspections on Buses for Eid Holiday Travel
The Bogor District Transportation Office (Dishub) is visiting every bus transport company (PO) providing vehicles for the 2026 Eid holiday homecoming, whether for free government-sponsored travel schemes or private buses carrying passengers to their home regions ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah (Lebaran 2026).
“We’re going directly to all bus companies to streamline and expedite the safety inspection process. If any repairs are needed, the company can address them immediately, keeping buses in the garage to ensure passenger safety,” said Bayu Ramawanto, head of the Bogor District Transportation Office, in an interview with Tempo on Friday, 13 March 2026.
The safety inspections are being conducted jointly with the Bogor Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) and Jasa Raharja personnel. Additionally, Ramawanto noted that the Transportation Office is involving the District Health Office to check the health condition of bus drivers and conductors.
“We’re not only inspecting vehicles but also checking the health of drivers and conductors. For health checks, we’re involving the Bogor District Health Office team. They are also promoting the comfortable, clean and healthy homecoming programme and preparing medications and first-aid kits,” Ramawanto explained.
Beyond inspecting buses and other holiday travel vehicles, Ramawanto said the Transportation Office is also checking all routes to be used by travellers, ensuring all street lighting (PJU) functions properly and all traffic signs and directional markers are properly installed and clearly visible.
“Especially street lighting and road markers – we’re ensuring they all function properly and are clearly visible. This way, travellers on holiday routes feel comfortable and safe, and we minimise any security disruptions during the outbound and return holiday traffic periods,” Ramawanto said.
