Bogor District Prosecutor Reveals Special Crimes Unit Head Under Investigation by Attorney General's Office

The Head of the Bogor District Prosecutor’s Office (Kajari) in West Java, Denny Achmad, has stated that the Chief of the Special Crimes Unit (Kasi Pidsus), Andri Zulfikar, is being examined by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) in connection with a report of alleged irregularities in the performance of his duties. As a result, Andri has had to temporarily leave his office and has not been carrying out official activities in Cibinong, the capital of Bogor District, for some time. ‘The individual concerned is currently carrying out a special assignment at the Attorney General’s Office in relation to a report of alleged irregularities in the performance of duties that requires clarification and examination,’ Denny said on Monday (27/7). Andri is known to have been serving at the Bogor District Prosecutor’s Office for only about five months. Denny did not detail the form of the alleged irregularities reported, nor the official activities that are the subject of the examination. According to him, the clarification process is entirely under the authority of the Attorney General’s Office. The Bogor District Prosecutor’s Office, Denny said, respects the ongoing examination mechanism. The institution is also providing space for the report to be handled objectively, professionally, and without intervention. ‘We respect the ongoing process and provide full support so that the examination can take place objectively, professionally, and in accordance with applicable regulations,’ he said. The examination of Andri is taking place while the Special Crimes Division of the Bogor District Prosecutor’s Office is investigating alleged corruption in the construction of the North Bogor Regional General Hospital, known as RSUD Parung. The case concerning the construction of the healthcare facility is one that has been receiving public attention. However, Denny denied that the examination Andri is facing is related to the investigation of the alleged corruption at RSUD Parung. According to Denny, the handling of the North Bogor RSUD case is proceeding according to the investigation stages. Meanwhile, Andri’s examination at the AGO is said to be a separate matter and does not affect the legal process being handled by the Bogor District Prosecutor’s Office. The former Chief of the Special Crimes Unit at the East Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office also stressed that his office could not comment further on the substance of the examination. Information regarding the material of the report, the reporting party, and the alleged violations being investigated cannot yet be disclosed to the public as it falls within the internal supervisory examination domain of the Attorney General’s Office. ‘For now, we cannot convey the substance of the examination or provide further comment because it remains under the authority of the Attorney General’s Office,’ said Denny. Andri Zulfikar is known to have only recently assumed the position of Kasi Pidsus at the Bogor District Prosecutor’s Office. During his approximately five months in office, the division he led handled a number of corruption cases and investigations related to state financial management. The position of Kasi Pidsus is currently filled by Reynaldi Adriansyah, who serves as the Head of Asset and Evidence Recovery. Denny assured that law enforcement activities and public services have not ceased. The handling of cases in the special crimes division, including the investigation into the alleged corruption of RSUD Parung, continues to be carried out by the prosecutor’s office according to the internal division of tasks. ‘Meanwhile, the implementation of duties and services at the Bogor District Prosecutor’s Office continues to run normally and is not disrupted,’ Denny said.
