The Chairperson of the Bogor District Legislature, Sastra Winara, affirmed support for the Regent of Bogor Rudy Susmanto’s policy, which issued a circular banning government officials in the region from requesting assistance and Year-End Bonuses (THR) from companies and business operators in Bogor District.

Sastra Winara explained that the circular explicitly prohibits all government officials from the department level through to sub-district and village levels from making requests or seeking THR from companies. According to him, this measure represents an effort to safeguard administrative integrity whilst preventing illegal levy practices ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

“The Regent has communicated and issued a circular—no illegal levies, no requesting year-end bonuses,” said Sastra.

He affirmed that the Bogor District Legislature provides full support for the policy to eliminate any further illegal levy practices targeting business operators in Bogor District.

Sastra also flagged the possibility that certain village government officials may still be issuing letters requesting assistance from companies. If this occurs, he urged that such letters be immediately withdrawn to prevent public controversy.

“When letters have already been issued, there may be village-letterhead letters; we request that those letters be withdrawn,” he said.

Furthermore, he requested that the Bogor District Inspectorate conduct oversight and provide guidance to village governments, particularly for officials who have not yet understood the regulations and directives issued by the Bogor Regent.

“This is for the comfort and order of us all in welcoming Eid al-Fitr,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto reiterated to all regional officials that they should not submit requests for THR assistance to companies ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriyah.

The Bogor District Government has issued an official decision communicated to all Regional Work Units (SKPD), sub-district governments, and village governments.

In the letter, the local government requested all regional officials not to seek THR assistance from companies operating in their respective areas.

“Certainly, we want during the holy month of Ramadan and welcoming Eid al-Fitr, we want government to truly be present in a healthy condition,” said Rudy.

He also reminded officials that good intentions in observing the fast should not be tarnished by practices that could provoke public controversy.

“We do not want good intentions to ultimately be damaged by one or two incidents, thus compromising our 30-day fasting journey,” he said.
