The Bogor Customs and Excise Office in West Java seized six million illegal cigarettes of various brands during raids conducted in several locations. The enforcement actions, carried out throughout May and June 2026, resulted in the confiscation of precisely 6,086,713 illegal cigarette sticks, according to Chotibul Umam, Head of the Bogor Customs and Excise Office. The seized goods are valued at IDR 9 billion, and the operation prevented potential state losses of up to IDR 4.5 billion in uncollected excise duties. The joint operations targeted multiple areas under the office’s jurisdiction, including Bogor, Depok, Cianjur, and Sukabumi, with the illicit cigarettes being found in retail shops, agents, and expedition companies.
